I made one with a MP3 player on repeat a speaker and a amplifier. It was ok, bit couldn't turn it off when I needed to most.
You could use a audio transmitter and keep the MP3 player with you. Or rig this up to the power line so that you can cut the power to the speaker when you want. It does mean that you can only play one call at a time though

I think Marky610 has a pretty nice home built unit that is remote up to a fair distance.

Maybe he could chime in and fill us in on how his is made and the details of the 'remote'.

Sorry to dob you in Marky. I have been meaning to ask you via PM for a while about your caller but this may be a better avenue.

thank you for taking the time to reply guys i was thinking with those speakers you could have the mp3 player with you so you can change the calls or pause and set the speaker out away from you? so the fox is looking at that and not at you which is the problem he has at the moment using the mouth call he has at the moment not that it stops him bagging a fair few foxes ;) yes i remember seeing marky610 caller while looking at his videos on youtube was looking at his door rifle rest to very clever guy but a busy one allso allways comes up with some great stuff will have a look for mp3 calls to download and see what i can find and post the links up here to help others out if i can thanks again

With the price and performance of the new Icotec callers it's not worth building one.

http://www.bestfoxcall.co.uk/index.php/ ... ote-calls/

My homemade one consisted of an Ipod (cheap secondhand off ebay), 2.4ghz transmitter/receiver, car p/a amp, 12v battery and horn speaker.

I use a GC500 now ;)
Land Rovers, who would be daft enough to own one?
