I'm bored.
... in the best P O S S I B L E kenny Everett taste.
I've plagiarised an idea off Fizzbangwallop after seeing how he cleverly converted his T-20 into a practical illuminator for the Photon. There must be dozens of shooters who are unwittingly signalling their presence to the quarry they are hunting by showing them a red light when they can't see them through their 5 or even 8 mag Photon - which only needs a small amount of IR illumination concentrated into the narrow viewing area.
The issue is about to be corrected for future T-20 purchasers by virtue of 3 mode drivers - but the rest of you needn't worry - this is the next black upgrade to be made commercially available - if I paint them that is.
Or you can make one yourselves if you are able to take a dump without someone doing it for you.

i reckon you are our equivalent of that randy bohannon fella.....only its 501b's rather than muslims
nah a 501b is fine for rabbiting on a photon but i would'nt take a 200yrd fox shot with it. i'd use a crap t20 minimum. or better still a 66mm...i wanna be able to see it as clearly as possible

I think most Photon users probably won't use theirs for much more than 100 yards TBH. It'll be on the HMR soon though.
Why aren't you in bed?

a fair number of photon posts have been about foxing though mate...and max range on fox is how i judge my nv kit. a flood beam has never caused me any issues so for me its fine to zoom out for closer range work
and i'm not missing all the rabbits that run away either. i have tubed spotters that really do work without i.r
and i dont see loads running away when i switch the i.r on
in fact i was out playing last night for half an hour and i sat watching the same rabbit munching away whilst trying four different illuminators and three different nvd's. it was 70yrds away and did'nt give a monkeys what light was waving about
just like the photon itself. what works for one don't always work for all.....
*edit
and with that i think i have nailed my name in the pages of history enough for one day......i'm off for a kip
