DIY prize competition.

Okay lads (and lasses ;) ), we're going to run a little DIY competition in order to bring out the creative side of those amongst you who like to tinker a little.

The idea comes from this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=467

and so the idea is to build a little gizmo that will take pics through your scope, via your mobile phone, or even better, video, if your phone has the capability.

The comp will run until the last day of February, and hopefully, we'll make a regular feature of this.

We'll need to see photographs of your device, plus photographs/footage taken through it. We'll have to trust you to supply stuff that was taken through your Blue Peter knock-up and not via a commercial unit 8-)

Simply post your results up on this thread for all to see ;)

We'll add to this post when we come up with the prize, but don't get too excited.

Right then, the prize, modest as it is, is a modified green laser flashlight.

Anyone who was at the November NV meet will have seen me showing a few people the ones that I modified by adding an o-ring to alter the focus to a tighter beam.

It ain't new, but it's only been turned on a few times. I'll even include the battery.

Right chaps, to reiterate the object of the project:

Basically, to make a holder/adaptor for your mobile phone, which will attach to the rear of your scope and allow you to take footage/snaps with your phone, of the view through your scope.

Use any materials you like. Taped together/ glued together/ machined, we're not fussed :)
