Re: knives
No rules broken on here
Would be good to see some of your work though. Either Photobucket pics or links to British Blades. You never know, it might just whet someones appetite.

Re: knives
thank you young man , ive sort of got stuck in a bowie and dagger corner for the last year as thats all most seem to comission but i do enjoy it . to take a peice of steel or scrap and forge or stock remove it to shape and an old antler and end up with a usable knife is very satisfying but has killed my collecting pashion wich is probably a good thing , i now make a bit off knives instead of spending on em

Re: knives
Don't damasscus always look magical!reminds me of the saxon swords, how many days to fold and forge the steel for one of them?
Re: knives
2 to 3 days depending on size and layer count from start to rough blank . then the shaping and grinding starts . its hard work and my nieghbers dont like the noise much but they dont say to much as they think im a bit tapped when im chopping wood in the yard with difrent sodding great knives in hand

Re: knives
Some stunning workmanship there mate
I'm no knife collector but would be proud to own any of those. That desert ironwood looks a beautiful piece of timber on a very nice little knife.
