Hello to all 8-)

I want to try and build a scope add on kit for rabbit shooting with an airrifle. Found an t20 ir, screens are easily sourced. My biggest question is which board to use and lens. Thinking a sony 700 tvl, but which model do you guys think. Don't think I need osd, read some links saying the icx 633 is the one? . Then a 16mm lens? but how far away from the scope will I need to mount it, or is that just a case of trial and error to suit each scope? There must be a ball park figure relient on the field of view angle?
So many question n soooo much to learn and some v lamp shy rabbits to attend too

Hi mate Welcome to the forum.
The 633 is a great chip but it only comes in 400TVL & 500TVL
Your best option would be to search the DIY part of the forum to look at the cameras people use.
It all depends on your budget.
The E700 might be your first camera to search the forum for and its on sale at the moment ;)

looked at the sure 24 website at the e700, read on the specs sheet the IR clearly marked as " No " ? Anyone shed any light on it and any ideas on the sort of money they are. What is to watch out for when buying a board or camera?

The E700 is 58 pounds plus VAT from Sure 24. It's the cheapest you are going to find it anywhere. Ordering from the USA, adding freight and VAT will be more expensive. They give 10% off to members, but if you want them to swap in a 16mm lens (a good idea) then you will pay the full price.
Sure24 are apparently out of stock - after they dropped the price last week we hit them hard. I suggest you call and ask about the next shipment & future pricing.
The E700, like most security cams, has an IR cut filter - a piece of glass glued to the lens to stop IR bandwidth light. You need to remove this yourself. There are several threads on how to do it.

One big benefit of the E700 is it will fit neatly into a Pulsar Day Scope Adapter, making your build a lot easier. There are a couple of cheaper cameras that members are using, but they do not fit into the DSA, so assembly will be more complex.

Making a scope mount isnt a problems as am an engineer by trade. Was going to make a board holder turned out if black ptfe or poly n mill the centre out to suit the board brought . Then do a push on rubber joiner similar to the nitesite system or is this not a prefered system? Do any of the guys just buy a board n do it this way?
