Hi all,
I registered on here a little while back but have not had the time to ask/do etc. what I initially joined for. I do have a little more time now so will be making more appearances.
A little about me:
I am 33 years old, born and bred in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire.
I have been married for 6 1/2 years and have 3 kids.
I've worked on the railway for around 15 years primarily as a maintenance/renewals contractor but have recently started a new role as a Trainee HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality and Environment) Advisor. (please don't hold that against me, I honestly want to make changes for the better for the guys on the ground)
I am just starting to get back into air rifles (with my son in tow) having not picked one up since i was a kid. This is the main reason for my interest in night vision.
Anything further you want to know just ask.

Re: Hi
Hi hutty - welcome to the forum mate. Have you got a name BTW?
I'm going to stick my neck out and be Mr. Boring Sensible Bloke for a change and recommend you get back into shooting again first by daylight, then by lamp - and only then NV.
That will give you puh-lenty time to salt a bit of pocket money away each week for a while. This NV lark is improving almost by the month now that there are so many people getting involved and digital cameras are coming on in leaps and bounds.
I would hazard a guess that the most feasible components we currently use will not be the best option by next winter.
Being a bit clumsy, I'm hoping that's not too heavy a reply to an introduction post mate.

Re: Hi
Thanks for the welcome guys.
'some bloke', Jay is my name but it's always taken as a username, unless i want something like '25437453' following it!
When I say I'm just getting back into air rifles, I bought a couple of cheapies around May last year that I've been playing/tuning/practicing with. I've just not got into it quite as much as I'd hoped I would have by now due to work.
I have just finished my first nv setup (literally 5 minutes ago) and i'm pretty happy with it. Even more so that it only cost me about £45! I think I've got the bug now though so will definatley start saving to splash out a bit on the next setup I build.
