Hello gang, i'm a newbie but an oldie.

Hiya Gang, Let me introduce myself my name is Roger and i live in the beautiful city of Oxford (city of dreaming spires), i'm 54 married man with 3 grown up kids. I am not working at the moment as i'm of with a knackered back, i am a mechanic and have been since leaving school all those years ago. So to save me from going mad in these 4 walls i took to the gun again, i still have my Airsporter .22 from when i was a lad.
So i started buying the monthly magazines, these ones are not on the top shelf lol. Reading a few months two guns started to stand out from the rest, Air Arms 410 and the BSA R10. Speaking to a few friends and a couple of gun shops, boy oh boy are gun shops few and far between these days. The BSA was slowly dropping off the radar due to teething problems of a new model, so Air Arms it was now 410 or 510?. No rush so started looking through the monthlies and even found a gun sale site on internet, cool head comes with age. Found a 410 for sale advertised on internet site, so contact the man who's selling it and arrange a meeting. Had to drive a fair few miles to see the gun, as soon as the guy got the gun out of the "gunroom" my cool head went to boiling point and i fell in love with the beauty. He said that the gun was zeroed to 35 mtrs, remember the last air rifle i had shot was an old heavy springer so just took that to be bulls crap, he let me have a few shots in his garden which at best was 5mtrs square. The sale was for gun, scope, 7ltr air bottle and a tin and half of pellets (AA Fields which he said to keep using). Deal done and the gun was mine.
I was very lucky when it came to getting what the new buzz word for it now "permission", because after telling my best friend of my new purchase he phoned a couple of days later. He phoned just after lunchtime and said that where he worked has got a problem with rats and squirrels, how soon can i get over to have a chat with the boss. I had already got the gun and car keys ready while i was talking to him, so i'm on my way. Having a chat with the boss he wanted rats and squirells taken from gatehouse garden, but he wanted me to do that as stealthily as not to offend people going through the security gate. Along with the vermin around the gate he also gave me the rights over the rest of the site, some 120 nissan huts, smallish wood, 4 factory units, 1 small pond and a big grass field. I gave him my permission page with all the vermin, he gave me the paperwork back signed with full rights for everything, so landed on my feet. After a couple of visits to the permission i knew i had to get a night shooting set up so went for the Nite-Site50, so thats about it. A longer rant than i imagine most leave but it ran away.
Hope to be of use to this site.
