Hello everyone I am new on here and really not sure I am doing this correctly, but here goes..... I am currently trying to do a scopeless build and I have purchased pretty much all my items from the rolaids and the advise from guys on this site.. But I am still confused about the lenses, Should everything be manual like the aorature and focus?
What does the lens mean when it is a 135mm auto with manual focus the F=2.8? Also will this work on the EJ230?

It mean the lens has a focal length of 135mm with a maximum aperture of f2.8.
The lens is manually focussed, but when connected to a suitable camera, the aperture will be adjusted automatically.
In a scopeless build the auto aperture function won't work, so aperture adjustment will have to be done manually
135mm with an EJ230 will give you a lot of magnification, but an aperture of f2.8 won't let in a huge amount of light so the image you get may not be very bright and will probably require quite a lot of IR illumination.

If you are looking at m42 lenses, they quite often referred to as auto, however they have a switch for auto/manual aperture. For scopeless you would use the manual setting. So both focus and aperture is set manually. As Bruce said, 2.8 apperture is quite small. You would need a lot of IR. What sort of distance are you shooting. 135mm is really center fire ranges. You can get a 135mm 1.8 lens. But that would be around £200.
You would also need a adaptor to use these lenses with ej230. Let us know how far you are with your shopping list, so someone can give you some advice for nitty gritty.

I have Bought the rolaids camera housing with the c mount adaptor, the ej230 camera, The hd monitor, I also have the video glasses,6800mah battery pack, power splitter for the screen and camera, and the scope mounts to mount it.... I think unless I am missing something all that is left is the lens. I plan on using this with a .22 mag and a .243 rifle. Is there any thing else I may be missing?

Also since the aperture has to be open all the way, could you just remove it all together? Probably a dumb question, I know nothing about lenes

C mount Cosmicar 75mm 1.4 is a fantastic lens, you don't need a daptor to mount it. If you deside on a m42 lens (SLR), you would need a adaptor.
The aperture would be handy if using the setup in daytime. I don't think it's that easy to remove them on m42 lenses. But why should you.
