I know I'm blowing my own trumpet here but I can't get over how well it it clamps to retain the reticle centre screen even when using the rear end of it to move the rifle.

Dare I count my chickens before they have hatched.... again... :shh:

After hawking my DSA and their drawings around a few other machine shops that quoted between £45 and £66 for each one to me if I buy 50 to 100 at a time: I went back to my chap for crunch talks and asked him to consider higher prices if it gets them done.

Imagine my pleasure when he showed me about 30 of them almost complete in a box. He can modify the clamping I/d to 46mm for me and add a second collar to accommodate the wider range of eyebell diameters.

The revised ones - with two collars will fit 'clean' eyebell diameters from 39mm to 46mm - but they will have to go up by £5 to £40 for buyers using their own flowplast end fittings, or £50 if they have one that I have machined the end cap smooth. I am absorbing some of the extra cost.

Fingers crossed for them to be done for the weekend - and a sigh of relief from me because I'd imagined the product was dead.

still not bad priced considering they will fit on different scopes

Some of the new spec DSA's to fit eyebells from 39mm up to 46mm have been finished - they now have an additional collet to stack one inside the other as needed.

Time has also shown an minor unexpected design flaw on my part:
The previously tight friction fit ABS Floplast end cap fittings become a slightly looser fit in the nylon Day Scope Adaptor. The DSA has to be made of nylon so it doesn't crack when being clamped down. Either the nylon 'relaxes' after a period - or more likely, swells slightly due to it being hydroscopic.

If you use your own Flowplast fitting you may need to make up the slack with sliver of masking tape on the male part of the fitting to regain the tight friction fit.

We have machined two grooves into the Flowpast fittings and used a pair of O-rings to make up the slack in the ones that I supply . Some may need a strong hand to fit the end cap in - defo not for girls.

I'll be absorbing much of the extra cost and the new price hasn't been finalised until he finishes the batch but I hope to keep the rise to £5 so the revised price is £40 without a floplast fitting or £50 with a modified floplast fitting. ( Machined grooves and O-rings + smooth cap)

If the price changes I will post up on this thread before applying the difference.
