Wanted Ward d700
Re: Wanted Ward d700
Think its defo being returned as the bolt is to close to the body as well. There's about 2mm in it. Plus this laser thing as me wondering if the filters are off is it going to burn the eyes out of a fox before I pull the trigger.
Re: Wanted Ward d700
Get some measurements of where it hits the bolt etc and we can compare them to the wardy (height and how far back your bolt goes compared to end of scope at eye)
You might have the same issue with clearance.
I don't want to knock the Arrow but are you certain you've got all the settings, focus, dioptre, etc all correct as it should be pretty clear.
It's no Ward700 mind you............
FYI - I've looked through an arrow and have a ward

Don't get me wrong it great with the filters off the dragonfly. And I spoke to starlight. Filters must come off their only there for safety reasons. That's the way they have to sell them. I'm shipping it back tomorrow.
I had a dsa on my nv add on so that would b okay. I just need the size of the ward d.

Hopefully I can help.
The only bit that can foul the bolt would be the clamp lugs on the base of the WDV. These protrude 36.5mm from the centreline of your scope. The locking screw isn't a problem as the knob is on the opposite side to the rifle's bolt.
There isn't anything else sticking out to foul the bolt handle itself.
Any questions, just let me know.
Cheers

Re: Wanted Ward d700
thank u Clive . I would imagine it's not any bigger than a pulsar dsa witch I had on my gun with no problems. The arrow is getting returned so I will be in touch with u next week. I'm looking forward to get my hands on the ward d. These guys rate it highly. Cheerscliveward wrote:Hi Savage, savage wrote:Don't get me wrong it great with the filters off the dragonfly. Re: Wanted Ward d700
My secondhand wardy arrived this morning and already having a play on differant scopes that I have and even in the daylight looks realy good compared to my old home made night vision. Did a lot of research on here and looked at one before I parted with my money and think I have made the right choice. Will be out Friday night with it can't wait.

Re: Wanted Ward d700
Collected my custom shims from Clive last week and have been out with it since.
The shims make a big difference and are rock solid when it all on and clamped, makes it easier to find the focus on the dioptre too as the shim is made to fit.
I've tried to get out to use it but it's been too foggy recently.
However, I was out a fair few times with the supplied shims and the unit is simply a joy. Bagged a load of rabbits and a fox with it on my sidewinder 30.
Battery on the Ward700 easily outlasts my T50 18650 Xtars if left on, which i've tended to do by accident.
For an add-on at this price range I doubt it will be beaten for a while in the commercial market.
Of course Thermal has added benefits but at a big price hike.
Just awaiting for the other shim for my other scope and then it can go on all 3 of my rifles if i wish.

Re: Wanted Ward d700
I usually get around one pm a week asking my questions about wdv and generally after my opinion
Basically the score is this.........WDV700 is the best performing and shortest addon on the market
Improvement can be made imo
I'm still not a fan of the power button position.
A side clamping dsa would be welcome for right handers if it would work as well as a bottom clamp.
perhaps 10mm shorter would make it the perfect length, just a guess there though
After that its down to upping the display and camera specs
Wdv700 uses the E700 camera and kopin 640x480 display. which is pretty much where the technology has levelled out to atm and i cant see it moving until theres some serious competition around
