I am assuming that a 5-90 degree lens is going to give a tighter square of illumination than a 25 -140 degree lens that is fitted to the T20 as standard. That smaller square of illumination is going to have a more intense beam, therefore I am summing it will give a further throw than the 25-140 degree lens.

Well at £6 it won't hurt to have a dabble, although I do like the larger square it throws over the rest it will be interesting to see if more range can be squeezed out of it.

I would say for Air rifle shooters the basic T20 is all that is needed. For people that are wanting centre fire distances with the T20. They will gain more from the new lens. It seems like as the lens sizes used in illuminators are getting bigger as the months pass. It seems to be that people want to see further for spotting not necessarily to shoot further.

The land here is Hilly and very steep ground with long Valleys. I want to see as far as I can with an illuminator that is not overall a big heavy lump. The 74mm is as high as I want to go with my builds.

i'll be interested how this turns out ian. the t20 does throw a fairly large beam but its lens is very very efficient, high 90's% iirc
