Not doing the big carp/bivvi thing at the moment.

Doing more of the match practice thing, so carp, bream, skimmers, roach and so on, although I've had carp to twelve pounds while doing this.

Really getting a kick from it, but me being me, it's costing a fortune. Doesn't have to, it's just the way I do things, as I'm sure you know.

To be honest, John, it's twelve years since I did any coarse fishing. Been a sea angler, off and on, since I was a boy, and I'm a Game Angling Instructor, though it's now some six or seven years since I did any fly fishing or coaching. I've done saltwater flyfishing in The States, Cuba and Africa too. I thought I'd re-visit the coarse fishing to get me over the quiet summer, but I realise I've missed it.

Bought quite a bit of gear up to now and thought i'd offer some of my spare shooting gear as a swap for other stuff. No takers as yet though.

Not at the minute, Pete. Hard enough to catch them during the day :(

Had twenty fish for about 60-70 lbs yesterday, so, okay for a beginner. It's starting to come back to me now  Had some good sport in good company. The weather was very kind too.

Not so sure that I'm up for the carp all-nighter thing. Nothing against it, it's just that at my age, sleep deprivation takes a lot of catching up with afterwards.
