Wanted - 75 mm ish Len's for Scopeless
Now that the motorcycle season has finished it looks like I will have a little more time to give scopeless another go. I've already got an EJ230 and one of daves CS threaded tubes to play with. I've also ordered one of igors crosscrosshair generators and some other small parts but I'm in need of a decent lens. I can buy one in from America at a good price but no doubt I'll get stung with customs charges.
If anyone has a lens they want to sell on please get in touch. Alternatively if someone knows how to convert the female CS thread for an M42 thread that would be great as I've found a few M42 lenses.

I've got a Sony 12.5-75 mm f1.8 C mount lens that I don't need as I now have an f1.2 version. It has been fixed at 75 mm and sprayed black - it looks a little tatty but is optically fine. If you're interested I can upload a pic so you can take a look.

I would have preferred a fixed 75mm len's or similar myself. Get a pic up and I may have a punt.
Can anyone give a rough estimation of the predicted magnification that the various lenses give compared to a riflescope. I use a 50 mm on my spotter which is great but unsure it would quite do the business on a rifle rig.

75mm is a good choice, also look for 85mm too. To get top quality image, you would need a good lens. If not in a hurry, research on 75mm upto 100mm. Last night a 85mm 1.8 m42 was sold for £68. That was a good lens for scopeless.
Cosmicar 75mm 1.4 seems to be the best at a reasonable price. I bought a samyang 85mm 1.4 last week, it's a really nice lens, but you have to be willing to spend right money.
75mm will give you almost x6, 100mm almost x8. Watch out for the apperture, lower it is, more light is coming in. 1.2 or 1.4 lenses are really good for night vision project. But 1.6 and 1.8 apperture is ok too. Once over the 2. Aperture, you will loose a lot of light and you have to throw more IR to got a better picture. 2.8 lens will work with t20 at full power for upto 100 yards.
I have a 100mm 2.8 chinon lens in m42 I can let go as I have another in 100mm.

How much was the samyang if you don't mind me asking? I think 75mm will give me the best balance between field of view and magnification. I rarely even a just my add on off its lowest mag setting when taking shots as it helps me to remember target size against the reticle and aim points / correction.
Finally then whoke I've got your attention Tony, what is your opinion of igors crosshair generator? I've just ordered one to try out as I hate the privacy masking reticle of the EJ230. Plus the generator is easy to zero as a pose to the privacy mask.

Ahh
Don't make a mistake of comparing with add on, with add on you get a free zoom with 16mm lens ( I guess you use 16mm ), if you want to compare it like that. 135mm gives 7x mag. So 75mm around 4x
Samyang lenses are expensive, normally around £250 from here and £190 from hongkong plus duties. I saw one in auction and got carried away. Finished at £162. Which is not bad for the lens. It's worth every penny IMHO. Choose your lens wisely.
I'm waiting on a generator myself. Will update my findings. All those reticles won't be used but some are quite nice.
