Initially thought it was crap ( no distance and very grainy ) until I turned up the brightness to approx 45/46 on the unit - what a difference!!!! Can easily see and range foxes to 300 yds +. Wouldn't be without mine now as very hard to judge distance with doubled photon XT on .222

I am just waiting on a mount to see what it can really do. To test it, I was just shining a T20 about but it was clear that it improved massively, so with it mounted correctly and with your suggestion of turning up brightness, I suspect it will do for the local charlies until thermal becomes more affordable.
