Spoke to SRB's about this and they've now set it up as a straightforward CNC job which will make life easy for anyone ordering in future.

photon xt camera lens adapter
The CNC'd batch of adapters arrived yesterday and very nice they are too........

I'm moving on to other things now so anybody wanting one should contact SRB-Griturns direct..... they're based in Dunstable and manufacture photographic accessories.

The girls in the office are Abi and Sarah, Terry Fogden is the works manager(?)... all very helpful.
Cost for a single adapter is £40 inc VAT... if you can get a multiple order going the price comes down, 2 would be £35 each, my initial order for 6 were £27 a go and the latest 5 were £30 each. Of course, SRB's may change their published prices.
I also asked about changing the M42 thread for a bayonet fitting to open up the choice of lenses..... singles would be £50.
Quote: "Yes we can put bayonets on the front, Canon, Nikon, M4/3 for certain"
With the Pentax Takumar 105mm 1:2.8 lens this is one seriously good bit of kit and totally transforms the basic 4.6XT with an AS Led based illuminator (Sunnranger
In the words of The Who... I can see for miles... ). The beauty of using a camera lens is the ability to F-Stop the aperture to suit the light conditions to get the best picture without fart-arsing about with the strength or focus of the illuminator.
It would work on the 6.5XT but the lens is glued in as opposed to the 3 grub screws on the 4.6....in other words the 6.5 is a non-starter in reality.
And don't forget you invalidate the XT's warranty as soon as you remove the 3 plastic buttons to get to those screws..... so it's all at your own risk, a bit like fitting a doubler... but more so.
Just remains to say a big Thank You to Lenny.sch for kicking this all off in the first place.
Well done mate!
's me
Cheers
Fizz

I've got a 135mm lens over here that I've been trying with my two adapters (different lengths) . I believe that it multiplies the mag up by x3. I also have a 55mm lens that pushes the mag up by about x1.7.
Let me know if you need any info.
