I would be interested to see it!

Neil was really disheartened to be fair especially as it was right at the end he's lost quite a bit of money too in materials and time.

What's the best steel piccatinny rail then? I spoke to john Carr before I started on these mounts he does a reverse extended steel rail which apparently people use for the drone. Alan Rhone and Tier One I've herd could be another option or just the standard Rail.

I bought a MAK steel rail for my Steyr Prohunter so have a look if they do one for your rifle. I don`t think they do extended rails but I reduced the LOP on my standard stock by just removing all the spacers and have not had any problems with zero shift since fitting the steel rail.

I'm sorry that all Gudge's efforts in organising this have been for nothing and for the time and expense it has cost Neil McKillop.
The alternative is the extended steel rail for a Tikka, supplied by John Carr which costs £90 and works very well.
I recently fitted one to a friends rifle and it works fine.
For me, the big advantage of the Neil McKillop mount was the fact that it got rid of the quick release picatinny base on the Drone pro that added a lot to the overall height of the scope when mounted on a rifle.
