What sort of range and image quality does t have? What sort of illuminator does it need to get the most from it?

On board IR will let you see a rabbit at approx 60yards and eyeshine a bit further. If you add a IR laser like a N1000 you will see 150+ yards easy.
Picture quality is good but it is even better through a seperate screen, I have one mounted on my dashboard.
