Pair of Bosch Ufled's *SOLD*

Post by some bloke » 17 Nov 2012, 12:02

SOLD

Chaps, as some of you will know I now have a shooting rig which rarely needs IR so this truck mag mounted twin Bosch Ufled IR source is sitting here all forlorn and not needed.

Both are used refurbished units which show signs of wear and are 940nm ones. One has a dimmer, one doesn't. Included are spare 'lenses' which alter their field of illumination. They are bolted top and bottom to small Dexion strips, the lower one is in turn bolted to a mag mount.

I have driven up to 40mph with them on the roof to and from my local permissions but I wouldn't recommend leaving them on for high speed travel. They are wired together with a Deben terminal connector and I shall include a Deben extension lead for your supply.

I have the mains adaptors for them (new) and brackets which of course won't be needed for truck fitment. I have put some foam on top of the upper Dexion strip in case you need to rest a rifle on it.

I will sell this assembly for £150 collected - please don't ask me how much to post because I won't risk dodgy carriers chucking it about in transit. It's shown below with my spotting rig - which is not included in the sale:

It was the too powerfull source of light for this video:

Hi

Would they work well with the Pulsar N550 and to what range if so?

Cheers

I've never tried them with a commercially available NVD.
For that reason it would be unfair to comment on how far I think it might offer illumination for whatever type of NVD is being considered.

I would hazard a guess that somone has tried them with that rig. I rather hope they read this thread. FWIW, I'm told the N550 uses an F2 lens so it lets in plenty of light.

................................................................. EDIT: .............................................................

After thinking about this, your N550 can probably see as well as the Watec 902H in spotter mode with the lense I was using.
At 1.18 in the video the furtherest trees are about 250 yards away. The Hare was about 70 yards away.
That recording was taken with a JXD990 which records much much much poorer image quality than when seen on a plain LCD screen monitor - or your N550 oled. I have a feeling that the video will sound the death knell for the sale of the Bosch - all I can say is come see it in the flesh through your N550 and my spotter/shooting rig because the recording quality is pants in comparison to what can be seen.

If a potential buyer wants to to try before you buy I can sort out a late night session if the ground is fairly dry.
