You definitely need a laser for the X sight
IMHO there are the best (in order of preference):
Sirius XTL from IRLightbuilds
Solaris SRX from Blackwood Outdoors
Black Sun dark engine from the Night Vision Store

Is that LED or Laser?
I think I should get the Laser type as per Bruce's recommendation. Unless you advise differently when using with the X-Sight?

I have no personal experience of the DFK or LL illuminators so I can't give recommendation.
I do have extensive experience with those that i mentioned and am happy to recommend them.

I’ve been using one of these

for a month or so now with my X Sight II HD. It on my .22LR and FAC Air Arms. £35 and gives a very good picture at LR/Air rifle ranges ie<100yards. It’s not as powerful as an SRX (I have one of these too) much better than a LED torch and more than adequate for ratting and rabbiting.
