Hello all,n new here just joined today.
little bit about myself, I'm a livestock farmer living in sussex mainly a Sheppard. enjoy doing the pest control on the farms as well as some sporting shooting every now and again.

to cut to the chase. as lambing is already upon us, and having lost 2 lambs last night due to fox's I would like to get a nv scope, mainly to go on my .17hmr but would also like to use it on my .243.

I've done a fair amount of research and for my budget a pard nv008lrf would fit my bill just fine, so I'm on the lookout for one. all of the online retailers currently seem to be out of stock. so I thought I would try here.

Hi Hawk1006 and welcome to the forum.

Although the Pard 008 lrf will swap from rifle to rifle IMO its not always a good idea -------the weaver bolts on the 008's have been known to snap and i think they are hard to replace ?, then you have the re zeroing to check, im a lover of zero then leave alone.

The Pard 007 "might" be a better idea if you are using more than one rifle ?

If you are loosing lambs to foxes its your 243 you want set up, hmr really needs brain shot to drop foxes instantly, body shots does result in a lot of runners.

thank you very much for the reply so far, I did look at the nv007 but the 2 scopes I currently have both dont have parallax adjustment as far as I can tell. so I would have to buy 2 scopes plus the nv007. hence why I figured the 008. I'm aware that I would have to re zero beetween rifles, but I can do that before I head out. the lambing sheep are at a differant farm.

Get a cheap s/hand photon package, few about , do the job on the 243 , especially if dont use it all year round...

You are correct, if you need to buy two more scopes and a 007, that the 008's are your better choice, if you get one , just be careful not to over tighten the weaver rail bolts.
