Anyone gorra small milling machine they no longer use? Needs to be small enough to fit on something like a kitchen worktop in my small home workshop.

Needs to be able to hold and mill a 60 diameter Delrin bar in vice jaws at least 30mm deep.

Adam, I thunk up a windage adjustable, easily shimmed for elevation CCTV rifle rig - and piss taking is always good mate. :D

I guess some people will still think bits of plastic should be cheap as chips regardless of how much work is done to convert it into something specific for a low volume niche market. But the item will have to have something towards the machinery acquisition costs again.

Morgy - nothing suitable there for my bench but thanks for the input, you found more that I did there.

Well bugger me sideways.

I was over there with a mock up of the job I want to mill and they showed me a newer version of that with a variable speed brushless motor etc - would cost over £800 with the vice, collets and cutters.

I shall be there again tomorrow morning to compare them (only 4 miles away) as it looks up the little job I have in mind. I appreciate plastic gears won't last for ever but it wont get a lot of heavy use.

Dave, we've got about two tons of miller here if you want to use it mate, save buying one and we're not a million miles from you. We don't have much tooling but there's a place just down the road that stocks second hand tooling quite cheap.

It's here if you need it

Cheers Rod, I'm only after a light weight compact jobby for my 12 foot timber workshop at the side of the house.
I think a two ton one would crush the floorboards.

Cheers pops.
