Agreed, that reticule is very well defined, and the near eye display was kinder on my eyes than any other I have used. Perfect air or rimfire rabbit tool in it's base form with a lens cap - or with a doubler for slightly longer ranges.

I HUMMED AND HARED FOR AGES and finally bought one of the old models from the above ! this is my first venture into nv ,though i have a 550r spotter coming soon ,i ended up in brain melt down looking at different systems and builds etc etc etc,i mounted it on the hornet last night and had a bit of a play visually and got to say for the money it seems like it will do what i want ! i put a t20 on the side and it seems to get a bit washed out it would be nice to see up to 200 yards ish if possible so i could take a shot at between 80-150 ish ,would an iris cap help cut down some of the excess light at night whilst giving me the viewing range or am i just after something not possible ? got to say that with the supplied day cap/filter its fine for me during daylight ! though i can see its easy to loose ,any suggestions as to the hole in the cap needed for day use and night use ?

Hi Gyn marky's doubler adaptor and yukon doubler needed, yukon doubler lens cover centre bit pops out which makes it easyer to set up in the day m8 the adapters available a nit- tek click on the logo or site advertisers, nearly forgot you might want the three mode pill for it bud because they don't like a lot of light close range and adjust it as needed marky does a ir pill just for the photon

The standard Photon doesn't need much IR within 150 yards. An iris lens cap will certainly help but at 150 yards the centre dot of the reticule is larger that an adult bunny head. That dot limits the standard 5 mag to about a 100 yard rig for rabbit head shots.

A doubler will increase the size of the rabbit head without making the dot any larger so I'd say go the doubler route - and that already has a pop out lens iris hole in it.

cheers guys ill give marky a shout ,is the doubler 1.7x and wheres the best place to buy one from ? i think i read marky just does the adapter ,i already have the 3 stage pill in the t20 it just seemed over bright on all modes its all a lot more sensitive than i was expecting ! S.B the rigs main use will be foxes but thats not to say i wouldnt like to take the odd rabbit for the pot ,is there any loss of zero if the doubler is removed ? i think i read somewhere that some people had some problems with this ! got to say though this could be a very costly forum to spend much time on

There's a doubler on eBay and adding that will help on the brightness side of things because you need more when doubler fitted :thumbup:as for spending a lot you ain't wrong there m8 it will be a thermal next
