I am so glad I gave in to Carol's nagging to stop being like most blokes who leave some issues until they get very bad before seeing the doctor.

Most taxi drivers lead rather sedentary lives sat behind a steering wheel for long periods. If you get more than an occasional pain in the chest that feels like you have trapped wind behind your pectoral muscles - or feel like something is trying to burst in that area please get it looked at. It may be angina.

Angina is not very painful - perhaps more like a band constricting the chest that stifles breathing and makes you instinctively sit down and rest for a few minutes. Mild aches down the outside of the upper arms were another sign and a quick Google reinforced the caution.

One of my arteries had a small section that was 85% closed and it now has a stent in it.
