I think you are sadly mistaken if you think that will be better than a Drone.

More toys, better battery system definitely yes, but these things live or die by the night time image quality and that is not going to be the same league IMO.

Only x5 optical mag and an HD sensor, it doesn't look good from where I am sitting.

I hope I am wrong....

It's Pulsars version of the X Sight, and we all know how good the X Sight is
Stacka - to quote Scotty from Star Trek "ye cannae change the laws o physics"
HD sensors mean small pixels and small pixels need a lot of light to produce a decent signal
I don't know if you've noticed, but when it's dark there's not a lot of light, which means that all those small pixels will be starved of light and won't produce a decent signal.
The reason the Drone (and the Photon) are so good is that the pixels in their sensors are much larger, so they can produce a decent signal when the only light available is coming from an IR illuminator.
The price you pay for having big pixels is that you can't get as many as you'd like on the sensor which means no HD
If you got rid of your Drone in anticipation of something better coming along soon, then I fear you're in for a long wait.

Cheers

I just crunched the numbers on the size of the pixels in the Drone pro and the new Pulsar Digisight
Bearing in mind that it's the surface area of a pixel that controls the overall sensitivity, the Drone Pro pixels have 3 times the surface area of the Digisight.
There's no way the new Pulsar will be better for NV work than the Drone Pro
The Digisight will be better than the X Sight because the pixels in the X Sight sensor are about 10% smaller than the pixels in the Digisight

Sadly its a sales mans world out there and we the end user can only take it from that point of view until we have it in our hands.

but having been accused of this in the past, I have stopped reporting back on things I seemingly know nothing about have never had and unlikely to own,

so for now I will stick to the drone and stop spending money on things I never had :)
