Hi all,
thought I'd share this with you. Bought this scope on fleabay as 'unknown vintage scope' for not a lot of cash just out of pure curiosity. When it arrived I noticed that it powered up as soon as the battery was in, with the IR illuminator on as well. So screwdrivers out and disassembly time. Started with all the obvious stuff, and apart from the fact this thing is made from solid milled metal there was nothing amiss. Then I discovered the switch assembly had been over-rotated, so reset it and hey presto, switch working again! I assumed that this was a basic gen 1 unit, and several hours of internet searching later could only find one visual reference, here: http://eastwavescope.com/index.php?even ... 96&lang=en
Now this said it was a gen 2+ unit. I also saw the price!
So now the fun part, comparing it to my THE14 Gen 2+ white phos from deep dark. I think I may have bagged the bargain of the century!
Scope bargin find!
Re: Scope bargin find!
Hi Peter,
That's a bit of history and indeed a massive bargain!
We made that in 2006.
That will be a 3rd generation tube in there, if it's the original.
Cheers
Clive

Re: Scope bargin find!
That's great to know, I'm fairly conviniced it's the orignal tube as it's performance is outstanding and holds it's own compared to my new THE14 tube. I only bought it as a curiosity and I don't really have a use for it, but it's still very nice to own.
Re: Scope bargin find!
Just a thought, can you remember which tube is in there? Wouldn't mind putting it in a PVS-14 housing if it's compatable.
Re: Scope bargin find!
I've decided to sell this after getting a dual tube NVG, any offers please pm me, in the interim I'll open a thread in the sales page.
