What you need to do when you get it is trawl around for a machine shop that uses the materials you want to use and buy offcuts, usually quite reasonable for cash. We have a local non ferrous scrap yard quite local and they will sell to the public, you just go in and mooch about picking up what you want then take it and pay.
I learnt a long time ago that If I sell tools and equipment it drives me daft when I come to do a job that would be a lot easier with the tool that was sold

Probably the only one I ever sold that I can still see sense in was 5 ton of long bed Cincinnati miller, absolutely beautiful machine with very low hours but just too big to move from premises to premises (or the garage at home)

. The one I've just done a deal on at 2 ton max (it looks under 1 ton to me to be honest) will be a lot easier to manage when we move premises again
