I think that's the pallete that I posted a close range fox with earlier in the thread. I shot a rat on it last night but it kicked a bit after the shot so haven't bothered posting it. It's the best colour pallete for definition I think but its fecking bright on the eyeball if you're looking at it hours on end..

Re the battery indicator on the Guide.
The NiMh rechargeable batteries supplied with the unit are 1.2 volts fully charged, so a set of 4 will give 4.8 volts fully charged
Duracell alkaline non rechargeable batteries are more than 1.5 volts when new so at set of 4 will give more than 6 volts.
That difference in voltage between the 2 battery types is what you're seeing on the battery indicator, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the rechargeable batteries.
I've always got about 2 1/2 hours from a fully charged set of batteries and the battery indicator is flashing long before the Guide eventually switches it self off.
On the occasions I've used Duracells they definitely don't seem to last as long.

Cheers

Got our wires crossed here. I'm talking about Duracell durolock nihm rechargeables 1.2v the sufferance is they hold their charge something like 80% for one year. So If I charged mine today use in a weeks time you will get a full reading on the guide battery meter. They are 2400ma but they will hold all of there charge. A high capacity nihm will start loosing its charge straight away at an alarming rate I think it's 25% in the 1st day then 5% every day there after.

Can someone tell me the best way to split the power source from a deben battery?
I need two feeds from the battery, one to a screen and the other to a power adaptor for the thermal. Is there an actual proprietary made plug thing which fits the deben lithium battery and then has two plugs on the other end?
Also can someone post a link to what 9v power adaptor I need please which would plug into the 'new' deben splitter lead and also into the Guide?

Thank you Theo, I went all through the deben accessories and couldn't find one. I didn't read or realise leads could be made to order so that's great news. I'll get onto them...

All I need to know now is which power adaptor is required for the guide. Anybody?..

The Guide needs 9 volts DC from an external adaptor.
You need a 5.5 x 2.1mm male connector to match the female on the Guide multi cable

Thanks Bruce

Is this the type of thing I need?

Is it good enough or would you know of better?
I can plug the cigarette plug end into a Deben battery lead if I get a lead made up by them with a single Deben plug one end and two Deben plugs on the other..
