Another CCTV rig

Post by some bloke » 29 Jun 2014, 13:23

Here's another SB EJ230 CCTV NV rifle sight for sale.

The rear fixing lug of the EJ230 camera has been faced off and it is fitted with a joystick extension. The crosshair has been installed but will of course need zeroing to your rifle, see this video for how to do that:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2J_lxlN5T4

It takes 2x 18650 batteries (not supplied) which are fitted or replaced with back up one's by removing the LCD monitor which is attached with velcro. The velcro also allows the screen to be positioned higher on the battery pod whilst keeping the rifle pointed at the target for setting and adjusting zero.

It currently has a 50mm SLR lens on it but it can be supplied with a 135mm SLR lens for the same price. Lenses are preowned but in tidy condition and good order. As you can see there is no external cabling.

Unluckily it started to rain a little while I was taking the photos.

Price is £340 including RMSD. First to post on here gets it, I am currently awaiting parts so there wont be another for a while.

If anyone has their own EJ230 camera standing about without a home I can do the mods to the rear and swap it into this for £70 less.

Haha, yours was the E700 one in the link below Ken. It has the equivalent camera and same lens though. Have you zeroed it already?

Thanks for the really quick feedback:

I can swap an F 1:2.8/105mm lens onto this for HMR ranges @ £410 posted RMSD.

I should remind viewers that this has no ordinary EJ230 camera in it - it has a customised SB EJ230 camera in it with the obstructive mounting lug machined off - and a joystick extender fitted. :D

Hi Tony - welcome to the forum.

This is used in instead of a rifle scope. It can be used it daylight too - but colours will not be as you'd expect to see them.

You'd sometimes need a low to moderate power Infra Red illuminator if it is a particularly dark garden with little or no stray light pollution: Such as the one in the middle of my signature photo below for those very short ranges - and a weaver scope mount to fit it to the top rail of the rig mounts - one of these for example:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MS130-1-25mm- ... 540a0afc1e

An 18650 rechargeable battery and charger.

A remote tail switch is optional - like the ones to the right of my picture.

And some pellets.

While things are moving so slowly during the short summer nights I may occasionally offer stock clearing prices. The special deals will not carry over into the longer nights when there is more demand for NV items - so grab a bargain when you can.

Any time my signature photo shows the stock clearance items I will include this moderate power IR in the deal for free. Most of you are probably using a T20 - which is much more than needed for this rig, to the point of ruining the covert advantage you stand to gain.

Dave,

Per our messages I'll take this one. I will be testing it on a center fire rifle for those that might be interested in how it fares.

Cheers, Roger, welcome to the forum.

That's with the 105mm lens + the free IR and mount.
I'm sure quite a few members would like to read about how it tolerates the recoil. My only C/F is a 17REM.
