Yes a better option for anyone thats thinking about buying the "Neil mckillop mount for the Drone Pro.
When Neil designed and made the Tikka/Drone Pro mount he did a top quality job, he got the eye relief spot on and did away with part of the Drones original base fixing direct to the prism rail ?, the problem is it does nothing to support the front lens which is where the holding zero problem is.
Kevin Grundy found out this problem and designed and made a lens support that uses part of the Drones original base. (mine is the first design)
(1) To the best of my knowledge its cured every one's zero problem
(2) It stops the front weaver rail mount sliding off -----as its all built into the mount with a longer weaver rail
(3) It puts the original Drone weaver base in front of the rifle bolt (while still giving correct eye relief) so can be used with any make of rifle ? not just Tikka.
Two of my mates have had "Neils" mount and re sold it because of on going zero problems, they and I had "Kev make-n-fit his lens support -----all zero problems fixed
People with light re coiling rifles "might" get away with "Neils" mount, or the "standard mount without zero issue's, but 22-250 or 243 and above
Any potential new Drone Pro buyer's, thing to remember is people dont admit to "their" Drone Pro not holding zero -----it dosen't help when you want to sell it.
The Drone Pro is still amongst the best n/v out there but with recoiling rifles it does need that front lens support
