Re: Deliveries from China...
I thought I had finished with this thread, but not yet... One more post.
There is justice after all.
After ordering a camera and having waited a very long time, I was refunded my money, but having paid with VISA I incurred a fee for the currency conversion... both times, at the time of purchase and at the refund.
This only amounted to just over £2, so I was out of pocket. Well... Guess what?
I HAVE JUST RECEIVED THE CAMERA!
Three months after I ordered!
Tried it last night and it was disappointment. The camera can be very sensitive at night but only if it uses the equivalent of sense up. So, if you don't mind the snowy picture, you can see without the IR. Using it to an acceptable way, this camera is not much different than my existing Effio E setup, with a slight difference... I ca use the EZOOM, PAN, TILT and a IR exposure control. Handy if you would like to see a bigger reticle.
Still fiddling with the OSD menu to see if I can improve the usability. Behind the board there are 3 unused sockets for which I have no idea what they are for.
Glad to have only paid £2 for it.

Re: Deliveries from China...
Was it postmarked Tibet or something similar?
I've just ordered an E700 from Sure24. 70 pounds at their new price Was going to do it anyway as I've been scared off the Chinese suppliers by stories of two month delays, but the new price was a pleasant surprise. You still got yours at a much better price though.

Re: Deliveries from China...
Tracking on a FastTech order placed on the 16th is working, its left Singapore on the 25th.
Order placed on the 26th is showing on hold, one item back ordered, due to arrive in tomorrow. Indicated the item, gave the option to cancel. Much better than DX's "One or more items are on back order, do you want to cancel?" with no other option given. I am hopeful that FastTech may be getting their act together.
DX tacking remains questionable. China Post shows my order in their system 8/11. 17Track says 10/11.
I've ordered two LiPos off Ebay, one from China, one from Taiwan. Hopefully one will make it through.
Banggood order placed on the 19th hasn't shipped.
Bangood 18650 battery order placed 21st shows as shipped but tracking is not working.

HeyYa Dave, Moment of weakness? Its a moment of strength when you get people to try a pew in your church!

I've got the top one as well as a T20 red single mode from Ian. I also have some bare hosts. Are any a stand out performance wise?

Re: Deliveries from China...
Going by bin numbers alone the Q5 LOOKS like the better option but it's really just a broad term in my opinion because the specific LED is not mentioned. I doubt any of them will be the first generation Ultrafires. Newer cheaper ones have come on the market with shallower knurling - and the threads are not compatible with the original. I buy the originals as empty hosts and start them from there. I've used up most of the last 100 brass pills and am bricking it because of fasttech and DX supply chain issues.
I've sampled loads and only come across one fake - matt black and total pants threads and everything else about it too - then got my refund. If I didn't do what I do I'd be major pissed about how some of the pills are thrown together.
It's a case of suck it and see, the worst examples will have drivers and/or LED's falling off the pill which sometimes has poor threads. At under a fiver it's no big deal if it ain't too brilliant. I use the supplied LED's for the air rifle ones after fixing whatever needs to be fixed so I'm not banging too much through them.

Re: Deliveries from China...
I've noticed that too - the natural finish host from DX in the first link appears to be the real deal, it has much more prominent knurling and threading, with a different size tail switch than the white lights and bare hosts that I ordered at the same time. The drop in is generic though, a very loose 'fit' and unbranded.
