For Sale - NiteSite SpotterXtreme - GONE!

Post by Squinty » 31 Jul 2016, 14:35

For Sale - NiteSite SpotterXtreme

Purchased from Scott Country last year but only used a few times.

Pretty much as new with original padded case, screen filters (one fitted), charger, paperwork and all the rest of it.

A very, very nice spotter but I'm not gettin' on with the format and my old peepers struggle with the screen.

The thing cost just shy of £1000.
I'm looking for £750(ish) but I am open to sensible offers.
Also open to offers that include cash plus good, fast, 100mm(ish), C/M42, lens and/or Starlight Laser.

PM for photos, and/or more details, if you want 'em.

Payment via Paypal with buyer paying fees.
Or payment via BACS.
Postage/shipping charges to be arranged, to suit buyer, and at buyer's expense.
Or, better yet, face-to-face meet (Saddleworth area) so the buyer can view/test the spotter, have a brew, and pay me in cash.

That 'belt and braces' routine is for wimps; proper chaps do belt and braces plus paracord and duct tape.

OK, looks like I dropped a bollock when I paid a grand for this.

Price drop to £600 or thereabouts.

Also open to swaps, with cash adjustment either way, that include; Starlight Laser, Zenit 100mm lens, PCP Repeater (need a good ratter!), in-date bottle or whatever.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think it will sell on here, you might be better trying E Bay or one of the other shooting forums.
The thing is that NiteSite are not well regarded in the DIY NV community (and this forum in particular) for trying to patent their Nite Site - which was just a copy of what several members on here had already built.
They are also charging well over the odds for the spotter you bought and which is bettered by a spotter made by forum member Some Bloke for less than 1/3 of the price.

Cheers

Well said Bruce, painful but true. Possibly a lot on here thought about telling him but didn't want to be the bearer of bad news. I know I was trying to think of a polite and tactful way to tell him but gave up, (Tact hasn't always been my strong point)

Chaps,

Please accept my honest and sincere thanks for the replies above - I take no offence, none at all.

Thanks for putting me in the picture. I'd pretty much guessed that I paid well over the top, for what the thing will do, but wasn't aware that NiteSite, as a company, are held in low regard.

So, all in all, an expensive lesson learned but a lesson learned nonetheless.

Next time I start talking daft, which could well be some time soon, please feel free to put me right without worrying about being tactful, gentle or whatever. 8-)

Ta again.

Squinty,
Full marks to you for taking the remarks in the spirit in which they were intended.
There's a helluva lot of knowledge on this site which is (usually) freely dispensed to those who ask nicely.

Cheers
