SWAP my .22LR with spare HMR barrel Sako Quad for .177 pcp

Post by some bloke » 20 Sep 2025, 15:09

Giving up my FAC but my son's don't want to go FAC. Dunno how much time I have left with health issues but don't want the rifles to be confiscated and There's not many rabbits around here now anyway.

When the time comes I can leave a sub 12ftlb air rifle set up with them so I'm looking to swap with cash adjustments as needed if any one wants a couple of rimfires
Would obviously suit someone looking to move up to a ticket if they have already applied - needs to be done by early November. The HMR barrel has less than 1000 rounds through it after the original got shot out at about 5K rounds.

Maybe an RFD would be interested in a swap.

The rifle and spare barrel is shown in this image, comes with the cleaning gear and about 200 HMR rounds. The day/night Alpex A50 and laser IR is a maybe with the rifle depending on the deal.

I should point out that its in the FAC system as a .22LR with its serial number on the action. The HMR barrel carries the FAC registered serial number so that basically means the rifle cannot be sold just as a HMR.

This is how quick and simple it is to change the barrels - Just loosen the M6 set screw that's locked up to the flat of the barrel breech end, swap and retighten. Notice too what sets the Sako Quad apart from most other rimfires: the FIVE ROUND magazines fit FLUSH with the underside rather than sticking out like a sore thumb that can get caught on what you might be resting or balancing the rifle on. If you can't see it - its snugged into the underside of the action between the allen key and trigger guard.

The HMR barrel is 16" long, the LR barrel is IIRC the shortest allowed at just under 13" making it nice and manouverable for shooting from a truck window.

I bought the rifle new - hence I have the box it came in. The torch is a laser IR I made when I was producing NV gear.
