At the Boot Sale!

Post by baffled » 25 Mar 2013, 22:09

Hi all,
Went to a car boot sale last Sunday.
Found a gun bag on the grass at one stall, opened it up for a quick look only
to find a FX Cyclone inside.

Noticing my interest the stallholder sauntered over and told me that;

1. This is the best air rifle you can get.

2. It's a .22 so you can shoot further.

3. It has a magazine that takes a full tin of pellets.

4. With that 'scope on the top you can shoot as far as you can see.

The one that really got me though was this one,

5. This rifle has three settings on it, rat, rabbit, pigeon.

At this point my mate dragged me away 'cos I was laughing too much to remain standing.

BTW He wanted £460 for the gun.

Ken.

Can't be doing with mingling with peasants at boot fairs. I use premium sites like weevil bay.
but I havent managed to find a rat pidgeon and rabbit air rifle yet........... :wtf:

But I did have a conversation with a bloke who recently was telling me he could head shoot (when he was in training) the enemy targets using iron sights at 1000 yards. Are they related?

Must've been my mate, he never was any good at judging distances...... more like 10-15yards. ASI Paratrooper if I remember rightly, BSA Meteor for me and other assorted springers between us all. :P

Those were the days.

Those were indeed the days. :D :D

I remember when an air rifle was adjudged to be a good one if it were able to smash a milk bottle at about 20 yards.

Wiseoldowl,
Whereabouts in Hyde are you?
I was brought up there!
