euroguns doncaster

hi all, Not being one to winge and whine about the day to day things that gets people down i tend to just let most things go over my head and forget the not so imortant Bell ends you meet from time to time. yesturday Rick gave me a call and said do you fancy a hour or two out so having just free floated my ruger 1022.22 Barrel and re done the stock thats was hacked to bits to fit nightvision units of the past i said yes as i needed to re set my scope but had no bullets left, Rick said thats no probs as we can call at euroguns on the way. so bearing in mind i used to deal with the owner of euroguns some 18 to 20 years ago as he was also a game dealer at the time and i used to exchange game for bullets with no money exchanged and at that time he owned a shop no bigger than my kitchen so it was a one on one deal. ive never been to the new well about 7 years old now shop, and lo and behold the land its sat on i used to have permoission on, the owner long gone now though, so out side euroguns we went inside and i wanted 500 winchester subbs, so at my local gun dealer which is the only gun shop in mexbrough, they was at exmass time £36.00 for 500 . now im thinking well at most im paying 40 quid from euroguns for the same 500 winchester subbs, well we had a look round and i could notice the price differentiation on most things so i got to the counter and asked a young lad prob in his 20,s how much is 500 winchester subbs, he couldnt think with his head he had to use the computer and he said £5.25 a box of 50 so i said how much if i buy 500, he looked at me like shxte and said £5.25 so i said what no discount for bulk buy, he looked again with that arrogant face and said No, so i said rite il have 100 then all the time thinking wow at mexbrough its £36.00 for the same thing. and with the 100 bullets at least i could set my scope up. all this time Rick was looking around for a winter jacket and a Bag to carry his traps in, after i found Rick he had found a bag that he liked about 30 quid good size for the traps and to carry rabbits ect, as it was a display bag for everyone to look at Rick asked the young lad if he had a new one still in the packaging, the young arrogant lads face gave Rick the same look as he gave me and said NO, so having knowlage that Rick isnt one to be messed about with the arrogance of the young lad he said somthing but i wasnt within hearing distance and i saw the young lad walk past to find the manager or the owners wife who knows? she came out and realised it was a display model and gave Rick a £5.00 discount streigh away. my point is why was we treated so arrogantly and why dont euroguns give a discount for bulk buy and a discount for ex display model stock ? is it because they make enough over the weekend target shooters and clay pigeon shooters and the online buyers that customer service has gone out of the window ? or is it that they have employed a arrogant ( A ) hole whos had his arse wiped all his life ?. we got outside and i said il never shop at euroguns ever again . that small shop at mexbrough falls over backwards to help any costemer, customer service is there priority, why isnt euroguns customer service there priority also or are they too good now for the working man to shop at. By your account it sounds like the lad had no authority to discount, but rather than turn business away got the attention of management who does have authority to be honest John.

Well if you pair walked into my shop i would be calling the police........

To be fair politness costs nothing particularly in the retail sector and that goes both ways. It just seems to be symtomatic of our society that there are few proper gentlemen (and I don't mean tweeds and tugging the forelock type). I was in a bike club for a load of years and the membership was focused at getting people in who believed in honesty and integrity. Weren't 100% successful but kept the idiots to a minimum. Ah good times.......

It sounds to me more like uninterested yoof than anything else. But that is life. Also unless you are interested in the product it can be difficult to be enthusastic about it. Oh and the money is probably crap but judge for yourself if that is acceptable. I wouldn't go back. I expect certain standards but then by profession I deal with salesmen and companies all the time. If somebody is bored and uninterested I will buy if desperate then go elsewhere in future. My money my choice.

Is it Friday yet? Mustn't be cos it's not raining

Looks like the reason for the poor service could be that they're closing down. Just spotted this:

50% off every thing tomorrow only

hi all, 50 % off at euroguns just prob means the normal price you would expect to spend anyway as the stuff in the shop was way over the norm price range as every other dealer. i went to my local gun shop today to sort having a fac air rifle sent to there shop from a dealer 100 miles away, anyhow i was greeted in a nice friendly manner when i asked the manager what i wanted he couldnt do enough to help me and just out of curiosity i asked how much 500 winchester subbs was as its been a while since i bought any, he told me for 500 brick of subbs it was £ 43.00 its been a while since i bought some and at that time it was £36.00 for 500 so they have gone up 7 quid not the £52.50 euroguns wanted for the same bullets. i will never go through euroguns shop Doors again there staffs attitude stinks .
