My shooting buddy and I spent our morning off, visiting a couple of our land owners today. Thought we'd offer any help we could with holding back the flood waters down our way (not a lot to do it would seem) and gently broach the subject of getting their land cleared for FAC use. We've been shooting for them with air rifles for a few months now with good success but it's getting harder to get in range of the `survivors` and the .22 is feeling unloved, sat in the cabinet.
Both were more than happy to sign the forms and have the FEO come around, ecstatic almost, despite the water logged grounds! Pays to keep your land owners happy I guess, maybe the bottle of Black Grouse at Christmas helped a bit..
Anyway, now I have a decent justification to fill the 17HMR slot on my ticket: 110 acres of rolling golf course and 300 acres of arable, both well stocked with Rabbit and Fox!
Flood waters for reference...
